My name is Sophie Cairns, and I started SC Grant Writing Consultancy to help raise funds for charities that promote human health - one of my passions.

My professional career has focused on healthcare-related technical writing. I hold a Masters in Public Health (MPH) from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, and I have worked as Senior Healthcare Research Associate at IHS Markit (now GlobalData) for nearly a decade.

Thanks to this, I have a thorough understanding of health-related concepts, and the skills to convey these accurately and persuasively.

Prior to working as a healthcare analyst, I was a foreign correspondent for Reuters, covering a range of industries including healthcare, technology and business news.

I have also raised nearly £15,000 for cancer research from individual donors.
